Our aim is to guide you to find your strategic place in world missions! This is a journey of Spiritual formation, to grasp hold of God's mission purpose for you and to become equipped to take God's message to the least reached. You will gain an understanding of the Biblical basis of missions, and through classroom learning, practical ministry and mentoring, you will build a strong foundation to make disciples for Jesus. It's a Bilingual Missions Training Programme in Portuguese & English. Programme Highlights: Biblical Foundation for Mission: Discover the heart of God’s mission and how you can be part of it. Comprehensive Training Modules, covering: -Orientation & spiritual formation -Evangelism (urban, sports, arts, kids, etc.) -Leadership & teamwork -Cultural awareness & world missions -Purpose, calling, & communication This is an opportunity for you to serve others and with others selflessly. Personal Mentorship: Each participant is paired with a mentor to encourage personal growth throughout the course. Experiential Learning: A dynamic mix of classroom sessions and hands on ministry. Amazon Outreach: Culminating in a 4 to 5- week Practical Ministry Experience among indigenous tribes and river communities in the Amazon basin. Travel for all outreaches is included in the programme cost. Instagram: Follow OM Brazil on https://www.instagram.com/omnobrasil/ Participant Profile As a participant, you would need to: -Be at least 18 years of age at the start of the programme-Be competent in either Portuguese, English or Spanish-Have a love for Jesus and a desire to share your faith-Have a desire and openness to allow God to work in your life-Have a desire to learn, be challenged and grow as a person-Be flexible and be willing to live and work in a team Accommodation Participants stay in dormitory-style rooms. There are separate blocks for male and female. You will have the opportunity to grow in teamwork and service by helping to keep the training base clean and tidy. Food There will be a variety of meals prepared by our cook and some by the REACH participants themselves. Participants will be expected to eat most meals together and to serve together clearing up after most of your meals. Please let us know in advance of any special dietary needs (vegetarian, food allergies, dairy-free, gluten free, etc.) Travel Participants are expected to make their own travel arrangements to and from the base in São José dos Campos, São Paulo, Brazil. The nearest airport is Guarulhos (GRU) International Airport of São Paulo. Please do not book flights unless you have received an official acceptance email from the Short Term Opportunities team. Health Participants should be in good health and able to do typical house chores, play games with children and youth and walk a reasonable distance without difficulty. Each participant is responsible to obtain appropriate emergency health medical insurance & bring medications they take or need with them. Vaccines: Participants must be vaccinated against Yellow Fever and have an International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis (ICVP) Visa For UK citizens a visa is required for trips longer than 90 days (REACH programme is 4 months). Please note that it is the responsibility of each traveller to ensure they obtain the necessary visa(s) required for entry into the country that they plan to visit. We strongly recommend that all visa applications be submitted to the relevant consular website as per their specified requirements well in advance of your intended travel date, this could be up to 8-12 weeks in advance. If a visa is denied or not obtained in time, we are unable to offer any reimbursement for flight costs or any other travel-related expenses. All bookings are made at the traveller’s own risk, and we advise confirming placement/outreach approval before making any non-refundable travel arrangements. Notes Individuals applying must be 18 or over. Price excludes flights, insurance, visa & any possible vaccinations and is subject to change according to the exchange rate. You are advised to take extra money for snacks, airtime and data. We highly recommend you join OM in the UK’s Getting into Gear weekend (GiG) which you can attend a weekend in the October before you go. This is a weekend of training and orientation which will be conducted in Shropshire and will cost an additional £75.
