Join us for STEP OUT - a short term programme that provides practical mission training as well as hands-on experience in Asia! Choose from various outreaches which vary in length, location and ministry type so you can choose the outreach most suitable for you. Please note, spaces are limited on each team and some fill up quickly each year.

Conference Schedule

01 August 2026 - Travel to Taiwan for the conference. All participants will have dinner together before the first programme starts in the evening. 

01-04 August - Enjoy the conference which includes main sessions, interactive sessions, team building, different practical workshops, cross-cultural awareness, 'GO' night, a prayer night and a community night. The conference will end in the evening of August 4.

05 August - Travel home if you are joining just for the conference or travel on with your teammates to the outreach for the following days!

Outreach Options following Conference

After the conference, on 5th August, you will travel with your teammates to the outreach country. You will be involved in local mission based on an educational programme.

Japan	Hands-on outreach, grow through teamwork, and learn to serve with humility and mutual respect. This outreach experience may also help you discover how God is shaping your gifts and calling—and whether He is inviting you to take a further step toward long-term missions. South Korea	Explore Korea’s history of division and discover meaningful ways to engage in Korean missions. Participants will visit key historical sites like the DMZ and Korean War Memorial, experience Korean culture, and build relationships through local fellowship events. This trip offers a unique opportunity to deepen your understanding of Korea’s spiritual journey and find volunteer opportunities. Participant Profile

We are looking for people who love Jesus, have a desire to share the gospel and have a passion for making a difference in peoples lives by using their gifts and talents. No previous experience is necessary as this could be your starting point! Additionally, if you have a heart for Asia but are not sure where to start, this programme is definitely designed for you. Another distinctive feature for STEP OUT is the BILINGUAL conference (English and Chinese). You should also be flexible as outreach schedules may change due to circumstances in the countries.

Accommodation

Accommodation will be simple.

Food

You will be offered Taiwanese food at the conference and local food during the outreach of the country you are in. Special dietary requirements must be communicated in advance (vegetarian, dairy-free, food allergies, gluten free, etc.)

Travel

Participants must arrange and pay for their own travel from home country - Taoyuan International Airport(TPE), Taiwan - outreach country (if applicable) - home country.

For the conference, you should arrange your flight to Taoyuan International Airport (TPE), Taiwan. Airport pick-up will be arranged on the arrival day for those that arrive before 15.00 on 1st August. 

Transportation from the conference venue to the airport will be arranged for before noon on the departure day, 5th August.

For those joining an outreach, you will be sent travel details and suggested flights/travel arrangements once you have been accepted. Please email [email protected] if you require more information.

Please do not book flights until you have been accepted and had confirmation from the team that minimum numbers have been met for the outreach.

Health

You should be in average good health, and must obtain appropriate emergency health, medical, and travel insurance.

Visa & Passport

British citizens can spend up to 90 days in Taiwan without a visa. Specific rules exist for naturalised British Citizens born in the People’s Republic of China and holders of British National (Overseas) passports wishing to enter under the visa waiver scheme.

Your passport should be valid for a minimum period of six months from the date of entry into Taiwan or your outreach country.

Notes 

Outreach costs include the STEP OUT conference costs. 

Prices exclude flights, insurance and any vaccinations required and is subject to change according to the exchange rate.

Individuals applying must be 18 or over unless specified otherwise.

As part of our Safeguarding policy, you may require a valid enhanced DBS certificate which may cost up to an additional £30.
